Dear Friend,
Achieve True Success is a work in progress. I started this site out of a desire to affirm my commitment to reach my goals and also help others achieve theirs.
This website is all about motivation and inpiration, practical advice, idea incubation and taking action. It has always been my belief that nothing is impossible if you set goals and you take action to make things happen.
My father had a comfortable government office job but he left it to pursue his passion — journalism. I learned a lesson from him: Do what love you love doing and be good at it. My mother, a public school science teacher, augmented the family income by buying and selling goods. I learned a lesson from her: The value of entrepreneurship and partnerships.
Those lessons and legacies helped me build an online publishing business, allowing me to generate steady income without the dreaded commute, office politics, the rat race, and the limiting confines of a “career path,” giving me more time to spend with the family and pursue my passions such as writing, arts, music, and geek stuff.
I failed many times. But I never gave up. I lost money but I never said “No”. I wasted lots of time but I just kept going.
I trained myself and the same time became “coachable”, learning from the experts and integrating their methods into my own system. I had to unlearn bad habits and study and learn the habits of successful people. I kept building and creating.
I did this while working fulltime for a health organization, a job that promised a secure retirement and had excellent benefits. Then one day, I did it. IT WAS THE BIG DAY. I resigned from the job and decided to work on my own internet business and on my own terms. I had to beat the odds and the doubts that I and people around me had about my decision.
Even as I count my successes, challenges and problems come everyday. It’s something all of us have to deal with. But my life experiences taught and trained me to always think positive, never give up and do better than I did yesterday.
I came from a poor background. I was sickly and malnourished growing up. I stuttered. But these did not hold me back. On the contrary, these hardships only made me strong.
Success is not the destination. It is the journey itself, the process, and part of it will be failures and setbacks.
Nothing is impossible if you set your mind, heart and eyes on your goal, and take the steps to achieve it.
If you fall, stand on your feet and keep walking. Straight.
Success is relative; it can mean different things to different people. You may want to be the best employee, or build the next big online business; you may want to be good artist or a good parent; you may want to break a world record or maybe just make somebody happy; you may want to save the world from evil and destruction, or you may simply want to save somebody from self destruction.
Whatever you want to achieve, just take action and never ever quit.
